Extra Rental Equipment
Budget Car and Truck Rental provides a variety of equipment and extras to make your rental experience more convenient and enjoyable.
Budget’s Roadside SafetyNet (RSN) is an optional service that provides coverage, in the event of operational difficulty or unexpected emergency, at a reasonable additional charge. RSN includes:
Key Replacement – Get replacement keys or locksmith assistance.
Lockout Service – Gain entry when keys are locked inside the vehicle.
Jump-Start – If your vehicle experiences battery failure, we’ll provide a jump-start.
Flat Tire Assistance or Tire Replacement – We’ll replace a flat or damaged tire with the spare, or get the car towed to the nearest service facility. The actual cost of the tire is not included and the customer may be billed separately.
Fuel Delivery – If you run out of gas, we’ll provide emergency fuel delivery (up to 3 gallons).
How to get it: Add Roadside SafetyNet to your Budget reservation during Step 3 – Choose Extras, or request it from your rental agent when you pick up your vehicle.
Prohibited use of the vehicle will void this option. Taxes not included in the Total and will be added at the time of rental. The daily/weekly fee is subject to change.
If you require a vehicle with GPS/Navigation, let us know when you make your reservation. While we cannot guarantee your request, we will do our best to accommodate you.
Moving equipment and supplies are available at select locations.
As part of Budget’s commitment to meet the needs of customers with disabilities, our services include, at no extra cost, left and right hand controls. Although many Budget locations carry these items as part of their regular inventory, demand can vary. Customers with disabilities – or their drivers – are encouraged to reserve assistive devices within 48 hours of car pickup. Please call 888-221-1203 for details and confirmation.
Budget cannot provide hand controls on every make or model of vehicle, and cannot confirm a reservation for a particular make or model of vehicle on any rental.
Drivers for renters with disabilities must have a valid driver’s license, meet all driver qualifications in effect at the location, and accompany the renter with a disability to the Budget location at time of rental. Unless either the renter with a disability or the driver is underage, at no extra charge, the driver will be authorized to drive the rental vehicle for the renter with a disability.
Budget allows additional drivers to drive our vehicles for a daily fee per each additional driver. The following are exempt from the fee but must meet all other driver requirements: the renter’s employer or fellow employee when on company business and renting under a corporate account; the renter’s legal spouse; the companion driver of a renter with a disability who has completed the non-licensed renter form.
The additional driver must be at least 21 years of age, with an additional surcharge for drivers between 21 and 24 years of age. Budget will check the additional driver’s license to ensure that it is valid and he/she must meet all the same requirements as the primary renter.
Traveling with a young child? Budget offers Child Safety Seats to help protect the safety of your child. Simply request a child safety seat when you make your reservation and we’ll have one ready when you pick up your vehicle.
Kansas and Missouri law requires all children through the age of 7 to ride in either a car seat or a booster seat suitable for their age and height. Your request will be held with your reservation, but rental is made on a first-come, first-served basis so availability is not guaranteed.
Due to liability issues, Budget personnel are not permitted to install child safety seats into vehicles for customers. Seats must be returned to the renting location or an additional fee will apply to the rental. Failure to return the seat in the same condition as received (minus normal wear and tear) may result in additional charges.
For your convenience, you may pay in advance for a full tank of fuel and bring the vehicle back empty. Our rates are comparable to current local retail pump prices. Please note that no credit will be given for unused fuel. If you change your mind and decide to refuel before returning, we will refund the prepaid amount upon return.
The Fuel Purchase Option (FPO) is not included in your reservation total. Actual price will be disclosed at time of rental before obligation of purchase. Price will vary as rates are based on, but not necessarily equal to, market rates at the time of rental.
Covers full value of the Budget vehicle in case of theft, accident, or vandalism.
Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) is not insurance – it is an option that relieves you of financial responsibility if your rental vehicle is damaged or stolen during your rental.
Even if you think you are already covered under your personal policy, purchasing LDW has a multitude of benefits. It eliminates the hassle of dealing with your own insurance company claim process, stops any out-of-pocket expenses you may incur from the deductible on your personal policy, and avoids the risk of your premium increasing.
*LDW is subject to sales tax, which may not be reflected in total estimate.
The purchase of optional Personal Accident/Personal Effects Protection provides you with Accidental Death coverage while you are in, boarding, or alighting the Participating Rent-A-Car Company rental vehicle. Authorized drivers and passengers are covered only while in the Budget vehicle during the rental period. This includes entering and exiting the rental vehicle. In addition, you and your passengers receive a package consisting of an Accidental Medical Expense and a Travel Assistance Package.
Personal Effects Coverage provides limited coverage for your personal belongings from loss or damage caused by theft, damage, or accident to your rental car. Personal Effects Coverage provides reimbursement for the actual cash value of most items subject to certain maximums, deductibles, limitations, and exclusions. Personal Effects Coverage protects YOUR personal belongings as the primary renter and those of your immediate family traveling with you.
SLI provides additional protection for the renter and any listed authorized drivers against 3rd party claims for bodily injury, death, and/or property damage caused by the use of the rental vehicle.
Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) is excess automobile liability coverage that protects all authorized drivers of the rental vehicle against third-party bodily injury and property-damage claims up to USD $1,000,000.00 for your rental in the U.S. SLI is secondary to the renter’s insurance unless they do not have coverage, then it becomes primary.
If Renter purchases PDW, Budget agrees to seek reimbursement for damage from Renter’s personal automobile insurance carrier. Provided Renter’s personal automobile insurance carrier accepts liability for damages to Budget’s vehicle, Budget will waive Renter’s insurance deductible up to one thousand dollars.
Budget rents to qualified drivers 21 and older. At the time of rental, renters between the ages of 21 and 24 are subject to an additional fee of $27.00-per-day underage surcharge.
In addition, renters between the ages of 21 and 24 can rent Economy, Compact, Intermediate, Standard, Full-Size, Minivans, 12 and 15 Passenger Vans, Intermediate SUV, Standard SUV, Midsize and Full-Size Pickups, Small, Medium and Large Cargo Vans and Moving Trucks only. Renters under 25 may not add additional drivers other than a legal spouse. Renters between the ages of 21 and 24 must also present a valid, acceptable credit card (bank-issued check/debit cards are not permitted) and a valid driver’s license (subject to screening of your driving record).
Age Exceptions:
Corporate Accounts – Drivers and additional drivers who are employees of the same company, on company business, and renting with their employer’s BCD corporate rates must be at least 21 years of age, or may be 18 years of age if employed with the U.S. Government on travel orders specifying car rental. Select corporate customers may be exempt from the underage fee. Check with your account representative to see if your company account is eligible.
Government Renters (including those in the U.S. Military) – Budget Car and Truck Rental is proud to deliver unsurpassed rental car service to those who serve our country. For U.S. Government (military & civilian) personnel WITH or WITHOUT a government travel order or purchase order, minimum rental age is 21 years of age. Must be on government rate. “U.S. Government personnel” includes military as well as civilian employees (for example, FEMA, U.S. Postal Dept., Navy, Army, etc.). This does not include government contractors or family members. The minimum age policy applies to both corporate and leisure rates.
